Photo-therapy has been used world wide to assist in treating a
number of medical conditions. It is the proper combination of energy output, type of light
wavelength and absorption of energy in the cell that assists in skin
rejuvenation and anti-aging.
Light waves penetrate the epidermis and positively charge the mitochondria in
the skin cell.The activities caused by phototherapy increase vascularity in

Active Skin Facial
Treatment
The first facial
to address the causes of acne, bacteria, oils and clogged pores. With an
effective blend of active anti-acne ingredients and natural plant

special shiatsu massage technique will calm and relax skin without
aggravating an acne condition.
Paraffin Treatment
Facial
This special
facial is specifically for dry or dehydrated skin. After a cleansing
facial has been performed, essential oils are gently massaged into the
skin. You will relax and enjoy the warmth of deep heat provided by warm
paraffin, coaxing the essential oils deep into the skin where it is
needed, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple again.

Another part of every facial
treatment is the machine that I use.
There are seven functions and I
will describe each one-
First is the steamer, or
vaporizer, which is considered the most important electric apparatus in
the field of esthetics. The benefits of the lukewarm vapor mist on the
skin are many. This is always the first step in all my treatments. The
stream mist softens dead surface cells to enable them to be sloughed off
during massage or the brushing procedure. The warm humid mist aids in the
opening of the pores, resulting in a deeper cleansing. The vapor
penetrates deep into the follicles to soften deposits of oils, blackheads
makeup and dirt so that this debris can be removed with ease. The action
of this vapor also eliminates toxins, improves cell metabolism and
increases blood circulation.
The frimator, or peeling
function. This includes brushes, specialized sponges or a plaster
"brush" ( much like a stone) used on the skin’s surface to
further remove dead skin cells and debris. This also aids in smoothing the
skin’s surface.
Vacuum and spray. The suction is
performed with a small glass tube attached to the vacuum, which is helpful
in deep pore cleansing of the skin. I use this after massaging into the
skin a specialized essential oil that penetrates and attracts oils, dead
skin cells and other impurities deeply imbedded within the pores.
After which the spray (atomizer)
of toner or freshener is used to flush out the pores, cooling and soothing
your skin, restoring the skins natural acid mantle.
The Wood lamp is used to help
analyze skin conditions. It is a specialized lamp that illuminates
different substances within the skin’s different layers. I can best
determine the proper treatment of various skin conditions utilizing this
lamp.
My illuminating magnifying lamp
is also used to visualize the surface of your skin, detecting tiny
imperfections that need attention.
The Ionosmiter, which is Galvanic
current, has two important functions during your facial. One is to soften
grease and sebum deposits for easy removal. The second function is to
introduce treatment products into the skin. There is a positive and a
negative pole to this current and each produces a different affect on the
skin. Such as closing the follicles, decreasing redness, preventing
inflammation, to stimulate circulation, among others.
Telsa Current or my high
frequency is thermal (heat producing) and germicidal. The electrodes are
made of glass and I use this current to stimulate circulation, increase
glandular activity, increase metabolism, to aid in elimination and
absorption (the skins natural cleansing process), and the use of the
current aids in deeper penetration of treatment products into the skin.
I feel very much that a facial
without this wonderful machine would be lacking. As you can see, it
accomplishes so much more than just a wash and masque applied! Your skin

Non-Invasive Skincare is Hot Topic
at Gina’s Designs
Beginning full skincare treatments in the full
service salon in 1995, Gina’s Designs has always held the thought that
skin should be treated gently, but in a way that would prove to be
helpful, accomplishing the task of normalizing the skin and helping it to
do what it does naturally, being the skin’s self-cleansing capabilities,
“cueing” the skin to regenerate new skin cells or the task of either
calming or stimulating the skin to help it to reach it’s “Natural
Balance”. This is the goal that Gina’s Designs sets for each client.
Just as every person is different, so is skincare
for each individual. Gina has chosen several skincare applications that
have proven to do what needs to be done without “assaulting” the skin. One
is the Microdermabrasion Treatment which is unlike the once popular
machines that literally “sand blasted” the skin to achieve smoothing of
the skin by “sloughing” off the dead skin cells, consequently putting the
skin into the action of new skin cell regeneration. She uses a
Microdermabrasion Crème that accomplishes this goal without damage to the
skin or a long period of normalizing (several days to several weeks). This
treatment can be combined with the natural alpha and beta/Vitamin C
chemical peels for optimum results. The peel she chose to use on her
clients is pharmaceutical grade, yet buffered to avoid the “sting” and to
avoid any irritating redness afterwards as in some glycolic acids. Gina
also offers a newer technology in the “Enzyme Peel” that is non-irritating
therefore appropriate for sensitive skin types such as those with Rocesea
or acne.
The newest treatment added to the menu is
“Phototherapy”. Phototherapy is the scientific application of light, to
specific points of the body to activate or produce particular
physiological results. The activities caused by phototherapy increase

an energy-emitting probe that emits a combination of infrared and red

both types of lights have to offer. It allows therapeutic light waves to
penetrate the epidermal layer of the skin enabling increased circulation,
which assist in the elimination of toxins resulting in a more healthy and
beautiful glow to the skin. Also reducing aging, hyper pigmentation, acne,
enlarged pores, Rosacea, or dilated capillaries, and sun damaged skin and
improving the skin’s elasticity and firmness.
The noninvasive approach offered is especially
effective for treating signs of photo aging without the inflammatory
